Goshen Public Library provides full reference service. Questions are answered in person, and by phone, mail or email. Staff at the Reference Desk are always available to provide assistance in using a variety of information resources, including the Library Catalog, reference books, databases, and word processing and Internet computers. Suggestions for purchase are welcome. Send us an email, or call 574-533-9531 and ask for the reference desk.
Computers
There are seventeen Internet workstations available for public use. These are available to patrons who have signed a user agreement. All the workstations are also equipped with Microsoft Word. There are several computers available for searching databases. There is a printing fee of 10 cents per page.
There is a wireless printer available for patrons who need to print from a laptop or mobile device. Click here to access the wireless printer’s support site.
Internet Tutoring
The Reference Department offers thirty-minute Internet tutoring sessions to help beginners learn the fundamentals of using the Internet. For an appointment, please stop by the Reference Desk or call 533-9531 and ask for the Reference Department. Limit two people per session. Appointments must be made at least one day in advance.
Interlibrary Loan
Materials that are not available through the EPL/GPL Resource Sharing Consortium may be available to GPL cardholders through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). It may take up to several weeks for the item to be received. Reciprocal borrowers and PLAC cardholders must go to their home libraries for interlibrary loan service. Assistive Devices
Assistive devices available for those with special needs include a tabletop magnifier and a computer station with adaptive software.
Tours
Special tours or presentations for schools or other groups can be arranged with Reference Services with at least one week’s notice.
