Goshen Zero Waste: Author Visit with Kate O’Neill

September 30, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us for a visit from Kate O’Neill, author of Waste and Professor in Global Environmental Governance and Global Waste Politics at UC-Berkley. This presentation is part of the Goshen Zero Waste initiative between the City of Goshen’s Department of Environmental Resilience and the Goshen Public Library. To register, visit https://bit.ly/GoshenZeroWaste-KateONeill.

In 2019, the Elkhart County Landfill reported 62,555 tons of waste came from Goshen City limits. The City’s residential waste landfill numbers are increasing 11% per year, 2018, 2019, and 2020. In 2020, the City spent $1.4 million dollars on the pick up and disposal of residents waste. With Goshen Zero Waste, we will explore ways to reduce waste.

This program is funded through the Indiana Community Recycling Grant Program as a part of the Indiana Department of Environmental Management
