Public Notice for Construction Bids
Advertisement for Qualified Bidders
Notice is hereby given that Goshen Public Library (601 S. 5th St., Goshen, Indiana 46526) will be receiving sealed bids from qualified contractors for a building project that consists of replacement of existing major mechanical and electrical systems for the existing 2-story branch library. The project also includes site work associated with removal of the existing staff parking lot and chiller enclosure to the south of the building, and new site work to build a new parking lot, trash enclosure, chiller enclosure, outdoor pavilion and swing.
Bids will be received at the Goshen Public Library located at 601 South 5th Street, Goshen, IN 46526 until 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Sealed bids will be opened and publicly read aloud promptly after the specified time. Bids received after the designated time for closing will be returned unopened.
Each bid proposal shall include all labor, materials and services necessary to complete the above project in strict accordance with the Bid Documents as prepared by RATIO Architects, LLC.
Contractors seeking to submit a bid shall meet qualification requirements, including (but not limited to): a sound financial statement, bond ability, insurance coverage, and a documented history of successfully completed similar projects. The Owner reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject bids from non-qualified contractors.
A Pre-Bid meeting for qualified contractors will be held at the Project site (Goshen Public Library) on July 16th, 2024 at 1:30pm local time. Attendance at this Pre-Bid meeting by a representative is strongly encouraged.
The bid documents are available in both hard copy and digital format through Eastern Engineering (Fort Wayne) Plan Room on July 8, 2024. Each Bid must be accompanied by a non-collusion affidavit as provided by law. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified Cashier’s Check or Financial Surety Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid, made payable to Goshen Public Library to guarantee against default by such Bidder in complying with the terms of this notice and its Bid. Awardees shall furnish a 100% Performance and Payment Bond from an acceptable surety as part of their bid.
The Contract form for the project will be AIA Document A101-2017. See Supplementary Conditions for complete details.
All applicable laws, ordinances and the rules and regulations of all authorities having jurisdiction over construction of the project shall apply to the project throughout.
Each bidder is responsible for inspecting the Project site and for reading and being thoroughly familiar with the Contract Documents and Specifications. The failure of omission of any Bidder to do any of the foregoing shall in no way relieve any Bidder from any obligation with respect to their Bid.
