The Literacy Lab is Goshen Public Library’s reading tutoring program for kids in preschool-2nd grade (approximately 3-8)! Our tutor provides one-on-one support for reading skills during a 30-minute session once a week at the library.

FAQs:

Children in preschool through 2rd grade (approximately ages 3-8) who attend Goshen Community Schools or live in the library’s service area – Elkhart Township. (Not sure? Check here.)

Using fun activities, games and books, students will be working on pre-reading and other age appropriate literacy skills to help them grow toward the level of expectation for their age/grade level.

We have a room downstairs near the AV department. Please check in at the children’s desk and a librarian will guide you to the Literacy Lab.

There is no cost to participate in the Literacy Lab program!

Caregivers will be expected to show commitment to participation once a child is scheduled into the program. This will include bringing your child to all scheduled weekly half hour sessions, unless you or the teacher calls ahead to notify us of a need to cancel. We offer and encourage the opportunity for caregivers to attend the session with your student. You can learn ideas to help work with your child at home, too!

If you think your child may benefit from participating in the Literacy Lab, please fill out the interest form below.
