What is Storytime Express?

Storytime Express at the Goshen Public Library is a free weekly library program for ages 2-5. Using stories, fingerplays, rhymes, songs and crafts, Storytime Express is the perfect introduction of early literacy skills to young children and a great time for families of various backgrounds to expose their children to the English language. Storytime Express is held every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. ; and Thursday at 6:30 p.m.  Haz clic aqui para detalles en español.

Storytime Express is…
  • A special time for you and your child
  • Books, stories, rhymes, songs and activities
  • Free, fun and educational!
Getting the most from Storytime Express…
  • Discuss your visit to the library with your child
  • Come to storytime a few minutes early
  • Participate in the activities with your child
  • Talk later with your child about the stories
  • Take time to choose books with your child
  • Repeat storytime rhymes and songs at home
  • Read with your child
Remember that emergent reading and writing is what children know about reading and writing before they actually learn to read and write. Library storytimes promote active parent/caregiver involvement, to help ensure that when children go to school, they have the necessary early literacy skills to help them become successful learners and lifelong readers.
